The Interview Part 7. A New Day

So… Herman looks different.
I got a few comments about how out-of-place he seems in the comic, and, taking a step back, I can see what people are talking about. He’s a character I’ve been drawing forever and my style has since evolved such that his look is odd.
Most notably, his hair no longer looks like, as one reader put it, “burnt hot dogs emerging from his head”. I’ve kept his face the same, because no other way drawing him looks “right” to me. But, I think the hair does a lot to help him look a little more normal.
As for the comic, this isn’t the end of Mim. What’s happening with her? well, read until the end of the week and find out, mister impatient.
What a huge difference a little hair makes! I agree that he looked out of place with the other characters… but not anymore. I think his face works just fine! Good job.

Anyways, who exactly is Mim?
Mim is Miriam Fairway, his publicist, mentioned in a previous comic. Y’know, the person who revealed his steroid usage.

Keeping your ambitions to a short-lived comic, readable in one sitting so you won’t have to worry about referencing any comic more than 20 strips departed? That’s alright, respectable in it’s own right I guess.

Interestingly enough…with Herman’s new hairstyle…if you turn your head slightly to the left and squint…Foreman from House looks like Gary from Spongebob
His hair definitely makes a huge difference, now my eyes don’t want to flee in terror whenever I see him.
I actually liked Herman just fine, even with the old hairstyle and everything. But the new one ain’t bad. I just gotta get used to it now. xD
