I still have Penguins on my old TI-83+. Good times.
Girls were never impressed by my playing games on my calculator. They were, however, somewhat impressed when I programmed a solitaire game on it (the one with the pegs and a cross shape).
Hey, Alex. First, let me start by saying Love the Comic!! I was redirected here by clicking a banner that caught my eye at the bottom of Somethingpositive.net… Secondly, for any of you idiots out there that are insistant on insulting this guy’s artistic style and/or sense of humor, let’s see YOU try to do a webcomic… otherwise, stfu, kthx.
man programming those calculator programs was so ridiculously shitty and it never turned out to be worth the effort except when i would write programs to cheat on tests
Nice reference to the Texas Instruments TI-89 Titanium there.
I used to sport a graphing calculator in my pocket at high school. It didn’t get me “the ladies” but it was the foundation for my interest in programming.
I’m sure many script kiddies can relate to this cartoon.
Dude! That hits me at home hard! I’m a girl, and I not only have Super Mario Brothers on my TI-84 Plus, but I also have Minesweeper and Pac-Man as well! This is perfect! (By the way – I’ve beaten SMB about 10 times now. XD)
Some of the facial expressions you draw (particularily ones I’ve noticed on Eddie) remind me a lot of Matt Groening’s from the Simpsons mixed with a bit of Charlie Brown… Great work, it’s funny and I like it!
I’m probably the only one who noticed this, but here goes: the clouds and bushes should be the same shape on top. Because of the limited memory capacity of the NES, they used the cloud bitmap, colored it green, cropped off the bottom, and called it a bush. Yay random gaming trivia!
Hey! I could have sworn I’ve been to this site before but after browsing through some of the post I realized it’s new to me. Anyhow, I’m definitely glad I found it and I’ll be book-marking and checking back frequently!
Poor Eddie, well at least he’ll have Mario Bros on his Graphing calculator with no sound to keep him company…
Hey, it got my brother a girlfriend, and they’ve been together for the past almost 3 years. Hasn’t gotten me a boyfriend yet though D:…
I wish i could have gotten something like Mario on MY calculator. That would be AWESOME…Double D:…
At least he’s got his prioritys straight. Gaming first, then girls………. Wait……. Scratch that, reverse it.
I totally had that game on my TI-83+. I also had BlockBoy and Bomber Man

I’d be impressed if anyone could program on those calculators. I can program in Java and Python, but those calculators boggle my mind D:>…
that calculator has the answer to life the universe and everything!

Keep up the good work, Alex!!
Well, I think it’s pretty cool… ::P
Hey, decided to check out the comic from a banner at the top of The Noob comic, love the art style and the humor.
Why do I find “What the balls are you doing?” SO FUNNY!?

…I’m a girl, and I would be impressed by that. D:
Probably explains my super nerd computer programmer boyfriend though too.
Dude, if you can make a graphing calculator play SMB I will MARRY you.
Well Kate, I think it’s already been done.
Oh and any particular reason you chose Oklahoma Tools as the company? Or did you just pick the next state up?

Tim.
I’d probably be impressed by that haha
heehee, “Texas Instruments” is to “Oklahoma Tools” what “The Shining” is to “The Shinning”…
Reminds of my high school days when we would play Block Dude on TI-83’s.
