I guess the option of redoing it would depend on whether or not the exam is government issued or not, and what the schools/teachers policies are on such matters.
@MrGBH Oh that’s what I was referring to. Where I am (in Canada) a 50 and above is a passing grade, percentage wise. Is that not how it works in the US of A?
Anything greater than 90%: A
80-90%: B
70-80%: C
60-70%: D
Anything less than 60%: F
Most primary and secondary schools in the US require students to get a D or better in order to pass a class.
In college you can pass a class with a D, but if the class is a prereq for another class you want to take you typically need to have a C or better for all your prereqs.
GPA is dependent on what letter grade you got in your classes. With a 4 point GPA system, an A class is worth 4 points, a B is worth 3 points, a C is worth 2, a D 1 and an F 0. Take all the letter grades from each of the classes you took, average them, and that’s your GPA.
I won’t go into 5 point GPAs or what an A- does to your GPA versus a B+, because even I don’t understand that…
Gotta say Alex, I’m kinda glad you stopped trying to stress out and push three comics a week. Seems like comic quality has gone up since relaxing a bit and going to two comics(ish) a week.
Wouldn’t it be easier for Kate to get her father to use his standard technique for getting Thurman through school?
Hmm…
Nah! She’s not like that!
I hope…
dis gon b gud
Yay new comic kate looks so sad in panel 3
Adventure time with penn and Kate.
Hmmm… the comics lack jokes lately…
$) as plan B, plan A= scheme.
For all the things I hear about US education for how bad it is (mostly from US sites), you sure have one confusing grading system.
@Klear Your being old and grumpy again granny. Go back reading Garfield.
YAYYYY, ADVENTURE!!
I am totally stealing that line somewhere along the line.
For the record, I’m in favour of Kate’s first suggestion.
Or just ask if you can fill out the back half of the test in 30 minutes.
Isn’t a 59.4 a passing grade? =S

@Danielle
I think she means percentage, not GPA. (And GPA is the dumbest possible way to measure someone’s intelligence, by the way).

A passing grade in the US is usually 70% and above.
OMG pouty Kate in panel 3 may just be the cutest thing EVAR!
For some reason I keep hearing “NARF!” at the end of Penny’s “YAAAAAAAY, ADVENTURE!!!” in the last panel.
Gotta say Alex, I’m kinda glad you stopped trying to stress out and push three comics a week. Seems like comic quality has gone up since relaxing a bit and going to two comics(ish) a week.
Looking forward to this new adventure.
