She’ll Be Fine She’s Tough
June 19, 2009
Yeah, I know nitroglycerin isn’t green. Come to think of it, I don’t even know if it’s a liquid. Basically, I’m saying I did zero research for this comic, so don’t be surprised if everything is wrong.
Oh, and expect some downtime mid-day monday when I switch to the new host. Shouldn’t be more than an hour. ‘Nother blog post about it later today.

That kid’s got a wicked serial killer/rapist face going on.
I just cant make out whats so funny about hitler xD
As a matter of fact, nitroglycerin IS a liquid, albeit a colorless one.
hmm I always thought nitro has a slight yellowish tint to it, mostly clear though
Well yeah when it is in it’s pure form it would be a liquid, but at the pharmacy it is more of an inert pill form. It isn’t near as strong to cause an explosion. Hey don’t worry about it! The joke is very funny. Who says comics have to make sense? How many times have you seen Daffy Duck get hit by an anvil?
I’ve seen daffy hit more times than there are Anvils to hit him with
and it looks like he’s manually filling the nitro caps
As Ironychan wrote in her comic Get Medieval today, “Dudes, it’s a comic strip.”
Actually, your pretty damn accurate with the nitroglycerin. You’re technically right with how it looks, it is a clear liquid so it could be green if processed the right way. Also, another good comic.
Tom, that was my point exactly. It is funny. Hilarious actually. Comics are funny because concepts make them funny, not because comics reflect the real world. Comics are funny because the thoughts that occur to us seem funny. Not because of Reality. Below is a quote I found from a website regarding pharmacalogical nitroglycerin. Website address included. Just FYI.
“By the way, nitroglycerin, in pharmaceutical form, is not and cannot be rendered even slightly explosive”
http://www.medhelp.org/general/nitrogly.HTM
too many logic stretches for me.
the government is going to be all over that one
I think he’ll be a stalker when he grows up (with that face…)
XD
I don’t know of any pharmacy that sells Valentines chocolates. And I don’t know anywhere that sells them in June.
And what kind’ve illness could require a prescription for explosive nitroglycerin? Maybe a Supervillain draws his power from drinking it and managed to get it on prescription? That would make one cool Supervillain.
Nitroglycerin is used as heart medication.
Sure it can cause explosions! (<–proved by the Mythbusters.) With the right conditions, of course.
afjuvat,
The right conditions are that they poured pure Nitro on nitro patches. That isn’t even in pharmaceutical form. I looked it up on Wiki for that episode.
Hehe. Who cares what nitroglycerin looks like or what it is used for. Everyone knows it explodes, and that is the point of the comic. Going any deeper than that is pointless. Nitro = boom. Then we laugh. (Panel two is awesome).
Mind you its blowing up Penny, who can open a wormhole and redirect the explosion to the source.
