I tend to 'forget' to pronounce my 'r's which I was told is very normal for those who originate from any of the New England states. I had to actually take 5 years of speech classes when I moved south to try and learn to pronounce 'r's and even still my accent will slip out once in a while...it's definitely something that sticks with you.
